ColeWood Properties is dedicated to delivering economic, social and environmental impacts through its developments. This dedication runs across our initiatives with the local community and the materials used in the construction of our developments.

We aim to make a positive impact on the local community and will do our best to be a good neighbor to the people of Aburi. We will ensure that the immediate environment is preserved as best as possible during the construction and development of the Amistinea Estate. We are building our homes around the existing large trees on the land and will ensure that they remain intact so that the lush vegetation that the region is renowned for continues to grow and flourish in abundance. The Amistinea Estate is located in Aburi, and we will abide by the precedence set by the Aburi Botanical Gardens to preserve the natural environment for future generations to come.
ENVIRONMENT
Eco-Friendly Environment - The Amistinea Estate will not be a “concrete jungle”. The homes will be built around the existing trees to ensure we maintain the character of the region. We will have ample green spaces, lush trees and flowers and will include a park, and a mini-botanical garden.

Rainwater Harvesting - Rainwater harvesting has water conservation benefits and is a sustainable water management practice. We will utilize the rain that falls on the Amistinea Estate, store it, and reuse it to water the plants, provide landscape irrigation and for other multiple purposes. Rainwater harvesting reduces stormwater runoff on the property and it also reduces the need to import water from the water company. This will reduce each homeowner’s water bill and also the energy and treatment costs for the water company as they will not need to supply a large amount of water to our development.

Solar Technology - ColeWood Properties believes that solar energy is better for the environment. We will use solar lighting for the street and community lighting in the Amistinea Estate. Each buyer will have the option to have solar panels and use solar power as their sole power source. There will be an option to have a generator as a backup. Installing solar panels on homes will help homeowners reduce their overall energy costs.

Greenhouse - Homeowners will be able to purchase organic fresh fruits and vegetables grown by local farmers employed in the community.

Recycling - As part of our waste management policy, we will ensure that homeowners participate in our recycling program by providing bins so they can sort out their refuse and waste materials. Ghana generates hundreds of thousands of tons of plastics and as a good corporate citizen we will do our part to minimize this.

Our Team - The team we employ is made up of individuals who are committed to nurturing and motivating each other. We encourage our staff to attend training programs and those enrolled in further education courses are supported.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Working Safely - We consistently strive to ensure that health and safety are at the core of all of our operations and development projects. We select contractors who have strong health and safety policies and work practices as part of our commitment to quality construction.
